  1. With regards to the ALS challenge, I've seen a few news articles about the amount of donations that actually go to ALS research. It was about 28% of the donations actually go to research. There was a large percentage that goes to advertising and staffing. One article commented that the 28% was one of the lowest percentage for research charities. I agree that donating to charities is good, but it should be free from peer pressure as to how much or which charity it should go to.
